I shot a doe last year with SST in the shoulder with 95gr of pyrodex, and it didn't pentrate all the way thru. In fact, it barely pentrated the front lung.

So usually I would agree, but I have seen the oppostie happen in person.

Thanks BC. The ML has been a reliable/clean killer for me but what hasn't been reliable is the reaction to the shot. This was part of my dilema, so thanks for sharing your experience.

this deer was shot through both shoulders, just a little lowon the exit side. i was about 30 foot high in a climbing stand and he was about 50 yards from my tree. messed him all up on the front end ,i saved only a few scraps of front shouder meat but he went in a stright line over 40 yards before falling ,i reckon the bullet didn't get no spine damage. But i was using a hog round on him 110 gr. of 777 and a 451.dia 45 cal 300 gr.speer plated softpoint. this is from last year.
