Help, I have a Knight Longhorn. When I first bought it, it was grouping preety good at 100 yards. Now, for some reason I am all over the place at 100 yards.I was using a Knight Saboth 240 grain with pyrodex powder. I have switched to 777 and tried power Pointsandit group a little better. It seems like any distance past 70 yards the group falls apart. The group really isn't that imprssive at 70 or 50 yards. I bought some Hornadys XTP'sto try in different grams hoping this may work. I am wondering ifit maybe the scope. The pattern does jump around some. I have a Nikon Buckmaster scope on it.
Should Istart at 80 Grams of triple 7 at50 yards and try to get a group before moving further back? What load do you suggesttrying first? I have Power Points, Knight saboths and Hornadys Saboths at different grain. I have triple 7 and Pyrodex powder. I am starting to get frustrated. Also,it seems like I have alot of misfires. I only hunt deer. This year I will be going out to Ill. for the first time and want everything to be right. Any help will be appreciated.
