Default RE: What bullet?

i lost a doe hit with a 295 gr copper HP powerbelt at 25 yds or so.....pretty sure it was a good solid boiler room hit.....quartering away shot....with i think 90grs of goex.........at the hit site i found a little bit of hair, a few drops of blood and a bloody chunk of bone...looked like rib bone........started tracking 10-15 mins after the hit...took my time reloading...took me a few miuntes to find the hit site....and then gathered my gear...put on the back pack ect.....tracked it on hands and knees for 30-40yds finding TINY specs of blood...then totally lost it........went in the direction she was headed...nothing.......gridded..circled......nothi ng..........had the last spot of blood marked....went to go see if dad could help me......but somehow i left the phone in the truck so i had to walk 1/2 mile back to the truck...drive home and get him........wellll on the way out i follow an ATV trail thats used during the summeri came out farther south on the trail then i go into my spot from......and was crossing the trail and found GOOD blood.....this was atleast 30mins after the time of the hit.........it went east of where i hit it....came in from the south....ran back towards the south after the shot......and now is going east...i start following to the east....creek and a thicket down there.........no wonder she went that way......track it 20-30yds down the hill in a clearing with a few logs and trees.......thickets to the south a few yards.......she goes that way.....and on the edge of the thicket i found 3 big blotches of blood.....in a circle maybe 5 yds around of so..........like she laid down there or something.....but i doubt i kicked her off........she would been visible to me the whole time....i heard or saw nothing run off.....and the blood wasnt FRESH FRESH...after that i crawled hands and knees looking for the way she went....couldnt figure it out.........circled...gridded..........nothing.... ...found a deer someone else lost a year or 2 before........but not my doe......hung up the flintlock the whole rest of the season and took the shotgun squirrel hunting through that area EVERY day looking for her.......hoping......nothing.....hoped shed smell after 70degree days.....never smelled nothing.......no buzzards flying like they always do here when something dies....nothing.......never found her........i really think the bullet hit the rib and exploded and left her with a broken rib and hole in her side but no penetration.......or it could have been a bad hit....i replay it over in my head and i still think i would blown ATLEAST one lung and the opposite shoulder out..if not both lungs and the opposite shoulder........no deer hit with a 295gr HP 50cal bullet is going 150+yds with a hole that big in its lungs or shoulder.......just no way......and i wasnt pushing her.....i was quiet.....and gave her time......just dont know..........never will....hunted the area many more times the next year and a half...never found her piled up anywhere..............i searched the hole creek and the hole thicket that next day squirrel hunting.....its 120yds wide by 200 long or so.........i gridded the hole thing..........up and back......nothing in there....dont know what happend......but i should had more blood on the ground then that IMO from a 50cal hole...........
