Currently shooting a Barnes Expander 250 grain with what appears to be great success. First time at the range with the muzzleloader and was able to place tight groupsinch high at 50 yds and an inch low at 100 yds using 100 grains of Triple Seven loose powder. Hoping to change things up with a lighter bullet, but after reviewingsome catalogs it appears there are few sub 200 grain bullets out there.
Any recommendations on a sub 200 grain bullet? Just looking to make things interesting...

They make a 200 grain Shockwave that might give you what your looking for. Personally I think the Barnes 250 grain Expanders are one of the best bullets out there on the market. You can push them harder then 100 grains if you like. Their only drawback is their cost. The Shockwaves are more cost effective.

I've used the Barnes Red Hot 180gr in a .45 Knight. Also used the Hornaday 180gr HP/XTP. That was a great shooter! Took 3-4 deer with that bullet.I switched to a 250gr precision only because I needed a hydraulic press to get the 180gr down the barrel.
Can't say if either is available in a .50 ?

Seems there aren't many sub 200 grain rounds.Could onlyfind two morerounds below 200 (in .50), that were not mentioned above.
TC Shockwave200 grain .50 cal
Hornaday XTP 180 grain .50 cal
----------------------------------
Cabela's Precision Rifle X-Tended Range 180/195 grain .50 cal
Just curious if anyone hasexperience with the Cabela rounds out there?
