muzzleloader restriction!

It depends hugely on where you are at the time . If the weapon is clearly displayed it might be legal , but you can bet it will be a cop magnet . I wouldn't risk it .

You're going to have to check Nevada law, as well as that of any other state in which you wish to carry. Check the State Police (or equivalent) web site.
I believe most states that restrict concealed or open carry make no distinction between a cartridge handgun and a blackpowder/muzzleloader handgun. Both use an explosive to propel a projectile, which is usually how law enforcement categorizes firearms.
However, if it is legal to do so, I'd recommend against it. Get yourself a modern firearm if you're going to stake your life on it. And if you can't due to legal restrictions, well, get legal (i.e. obtain a CCW permit).

People who wish to carry a weapon whether concealed or in plain view are playing with fire. There is a lot of circumstances facing this issue. I can sure understand both sides of the argument as to whether it should be permitted or not. I also do not mean to open a can of worms here....
In States such as Wisconsin if you were to walk down our street with an open weapon in plain view, this would not be in violation of our Carrying a Concealed Weapon Law. I would almost guarantee you that the local authorities would be coming to visit you, and they would not be very kind when they got there. What would in all likely hood happen is you would be arrested for 947.01 Disorderly Conduct.
947.01 Disorderly conduct. Whoever, in a public or private place, engages in violent, abusive, indecent, profane, boisterous, unreasonably loud or otherwise disorderly conduct under circumstances in which the conduct tends to cause or provoke a disturbance is guilty of a Class B misdemeanor.
They would base their probably cause for the arrest on the basis that the appearance of a weapon in plain view would cause normal citizensthat witness the display of the firearm, became frightened, upset, panic, and or would provoke a disturbance in a public or privateplace.
You have to understand that with the current ration of shootings taking place in this country in ourpublic schools, office buildings, basically everywhere it seems, citizens that later were described by those that knew them as normal, friendly, last to ever dream this personwould ever have committed such an act, suddenly and for reasons unknown, turn violent. The are using firearms and taking the lives of people that in many cases they have had minor or even no prior contacts with.
If you feel the need to go armed in private or public places, I would suggest you take the necessary steps to acquire a permit for such authorization. Know the laws concerning this issue in the States you are going to enter. This is becoming a very hot topic in many States such as Wisconsin and other areas of our county. I can understand the concerns and desire of some citizen to be armed. After all, the criminal element out there do not bother to get license allowing them to be armed and yet when caught seem to avoid any real punishment from our court systems.
Also understand that when you take on the responsibility of going armed you also take on the responsibility for any actions which could directly or indirectly result should you ever feel the need to use or even display your weapon. Police are sued every day by relatives of shooting situation victims. Even when police are deemed justifiable in their actions, they are civilly made accountable. Whether they win or loose the case, many times the court cost, attorney fees, and other expenses ruin them financially for years to come just to prove their innocence.
Last, consider the news stories we read every dayof such and such a person was shot by local law enforcement authorities when he was suspected of going for a weapon. It turned out to be only a wallet. Now consider a citizen has observed you armed,in a public place. You are fully legal to carry mind you. This citizen using their cell phone called the local police and tells them they have witnessed a man (giving a very good description of you and in some cases a picture phone image of you) with a gun. This man is in the local Wal Mart acting suspicious. Now think of 22 year old Officer John Smith (or who ever)fresh out of the Police Academy, coming to confront an armed robber in the Wal Mart.... He is scared, his stress levels are at a peak, he might not even know all the laws pertaining to CCW. But he is going to confront you. This is an extremely dangerous situation... Good luck.
