Bullet switching
#1
I am avid elk and deer hunter. I shoot a 7mm mag and it loves nosler partitions so every year I do the ritual of sighting it in for my deer load, which is 150 gr NP's, then re-sighting it for my elk load, which is 175 gr NP's. The 150's shoot an extremely tight group and I am very confident with them so I am thinking about just using the 150's across the board.
Just wondering if I'm the only one out there sick of doing this and what everybody does. Also anyone with experience using the 150 NP's on elk?

Shot placement is what counts if ya are good enough a 22 cal is enough to bring down the toughest critter
I have watched a 6x elk brought down with 55 grain 22-250 with 1 shot 15 yrs ago in Co

Handloader1, The 175's don't do quite as well, they don't seem to group as well and they drop a lot more. Nosler says they will perform better on an elk though. They say the 150's are made to expand on thin skinned, thin boned game like deer and antelope and the 175's are for heavy skinned, heavy boned game like elk and moose. I have heard stories of people using 175's on deer and the bullet doesn't expand and just goes right through them and the 150's sometimes will shatter when hitting an elk but have no experience with either. Thats why I've always switched shells and its worked fine but I am a lot more confident with the 150's and I tired of buying two different bullets and resighting my rifle every hunt.
