RE: anyone else wanting to elk hunt this fall ??
I often see many folks on here who would love to elk hunt. I would be open to taking anyone elk hunting in exchange for a quality whitetail hunting opportunity. Here where I live, getting a tag is as easy as buying it over the counter, and for all you archers, I believe Idaho offers some of the best archery elk hunting. We have millions of acres of public land and an abundance of elk. Anyone who is series and interested in archery or rifle elk in exchange for a whitetail hunt, send me an email. Would love to chat with ya about the opportunities.

BuckoDuck - You don't say ! Do you shoot locally ? Compound or recurve/longbow ? Lets talk !
staylor - I always hunted the Weminuche - hard hunt, tough area, rugged. What are your plans and I'll tell you what I can.

staylor, can't help you on the units for the wilderness, but if it is for a "statewide" tag you would have had a 50:50 chance of drawing last year. Go for it.

alright elk talk....using a diaphram call, getting a growl, a chuckle and a young bull bugle? Any recommendations on the how to's. I have the cow mew down....the bugle is coming along but still pretty lacking! Had the hose to the vacuum out the other day...GAG hehe! Well after cleaning it out it sounded decent. Now what in the heck is the difference between a chuckle, growl, and a grunt of a bull? Also is there only 2 calls for cows...a bark and that mew sound? I am learning sloooowly, trying to grasp all this. This man is going elk hunting..YEEEHAAA! got the tag 2 weeks ago...trying to get a packing list together and a fly date...I am thinking just takin the hole dang month! if not the hole month 20 days atleast, figured being I drew I might as well do it right!

I am going to apply here in NV as soon as the apps come out. I will be applying for Muzz. cow elk. The two areas that I plan to apply for were 1 to 1 draw odds last year. I just hope they stay the same this year. It all depends on how many tags are issued and how many people apply for those tags. They have been increasing tags, though for the past couple of years, and this year looks to be pretty good, wo we'll see in June.
