RE: Bambi !!
charlie brown,
Nothing wrong with being a "weekend warrior". Nothing at all as long as that is what is on the agenda of everyone who is participating.
HOWEVER, as you've noticed, trying to find a suitable hunting partner (especially from the weekend warrior ranks) that can "play a full 4 quarters of ball" when undertaking a 2 week/away from home/remote big game hunt can be a frustrating exercise.
Like yourself, been there, done that........

I had not heard that Peta was consisdered a terrorist group. However much of what the do is closely related and for sure the terrorize hunter. This in my idea is not a smart thing to do but in many places they seem to have the law and population on thier side. We have not been bothered much by them here in the Dakotas as yet.

RE: Bambi !!
I did not read all the replies here, but i "make a point" to NOT use the word Bambi, AND i also would like to mention that i also try to use the word "harvest" when i talk about hunting.
I've noticed that, saying i "shot" a deer, makes some townies crindge!! Yet, when i say "harvested" they kinda see it as something different!! I've been to chats and said i SHOT a buck, and had several women make a negative comment, but i've also used the word HARVESTED and not got one negative comment.
I bet some of you are saying to your selves, "who cares", but i'm here to tell you, it DOES matter, as there's a lot more non hunters than there are hunters!!! AND, they all have the right to vote!!!
It's a sad time we live in, when we have to watch our speech so carefully, to preserve our hunting rights!!
