Going Elk hunting next year, shoot a 30.06, thinking about using Federal Preium 180 grain Nozler partion ammo. What do you folks think, is that a good selection?

I dont see why they wouldnt be,. How well do they group out of your rifle though?
The reason I ask is, I have a Win. mod. 70 and I for the life of me I cant get the Nos. to group under a 1 1/2 group at a hundred yards. But on the other hand the Swift A Frames are grouping about a 3/4 group at a hundred. If they group well in your rifle then I dont think you could buy a better factory round then those.
Just a thought

First elk hunt I ever went on I used the Fed Premium 180 gr Nosler Partition out of an .06. Got lucky and nailed a bull at about 100 yards. First shot went in just behind the left front shoulder and broke the right front shoulder, knocking him to his knees.
Great bullet for an .06. Some bullets group better than others based on the rifle.
Have a great hunt!
