For elk hunters: Please take the time to look over this survey, I am wrapping up part of a chapter on elk hunting. If you could answer each question, I sure would appreciate it, Thanks!
With substantial populations of elk on private holdings, including large ranches and reservations owned by native Americans:
How does this influence your hunting elk out west?
Would you pay to hunt trophy elk?
If planning a hunt on public or private land, which hunt do you feel you would enjoy more?
If booking or planning your elk hunt, which states in order would you like to hunt?
What would prevent you from hunt elk in the states you selected, lack of knowledge of putting a hunt together, finances, health issues, other?
With regard to elk habitat, would you know what elk feed on in the season that you would plan to hunt?
Again, I appreciate your help, if you have any idea's on what you would like to see in upcoming elk articles, please let me know, thanks again everyone.

How does this influence your hunting elk out west?
Means for the most part, hard to draw tags or crowds of hunters on public land. Also, elk are smart enough to know where to go when the guns start popping, and private grounds offer less hunters
Would you pay to hunt trophy elk?
Yes, if I could afford it, but wild, free ranging elk only.
If planning a hunt on public or private land, which hunt do you feel you would enjoy more?
I enjoy private more. Usually easier to get around on, and less crowded.
If booking or planning your elk hunt, which states in order would you like to hunt?
Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, Montana.
What would prevent you from hunt elk in the states you selected, lack of knowledge of putting a hunt together, finances, health issues, other?
Hard to draw tags, finances, lack of time off work to scout new areas
With regard to elk habitat, would you know what elk feed on in the season that you would plan to hunt?
Not specific plants, but I usually know the areas they are feeding in depending on season, weather.

How does this influence your hunting elk out west?
It pushes more people onto the public land and then the elk are even more wary

As long as it was a free ranging wild elk, you betcha!
If planning a hunt on public or private land, which hunt do you feel you would enjoy more?
Depends on who was with me, it could go either way.
If booking or planning your elk hunt, which states in order would you like to hunt?
Arizona, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah
What would prevent you from hunt elk in the states you selected, lack of knowledge of putting a hunt together, finances, health issues, other?
Lack of time mostly, money is no problem
With regard to elk habitat, would you know what elk feed on in the season that you would plan to hunt?
Yes, I have grown up most of my life in elk country and I love to read the Bugle so I benefit from the experience of others as well.
