I only get one buck tag a year here in my home state. I am usually looking for a good whitetail, but when I spotted this big framed Muley, I was immediately hooked. Thankfully for me, his mind was on the rut, and he never noticed me closing the gap behind him. I ended up getting some super footage of him doing his muley thing before taking a shot. This was one of the few times I've walked up on a buck that had ground "growage" as opposed to ground shrinkage! I sent his teeth into the lab for cementum annuli aging, and the results came back that he was a 6 year old buck!



This is the first episodes of multiple muley hunts coming up, all with some great bucks hitting the ground.

That's a great trophy, and it's especially rewarding when a plan comes together like that. It's very cool that you got the cementum aging done to confirm he was six years old.
