Congratulations on a fine looking bear. They always look heavier to my inexperienced eye than what they are. I shot my first one two years ago during black powder season in Va. and thought he was 350. He was actually 249 but I rounded it off to 250 when I tell most folks, LOL. Sure was some great eating! Took me over 30 years to have one walk by me so it will most likely be a long time until I eat some more.

Nice Black there Ridge Runner. Looks like you have them Bibs of yours right at the perfect comfort level with some air conditioning for early fall. Funny how the wife is always getting on to me about my jeans and things in the same shape. Women just can't seem to understand that's when our stuff is at it's peak comfort levels.

well I bear hunt with a group mostly hunt on branch mountain between baker/mathias area and moorefceld, mine was shot at baker in the low ridges 1/4 mile south of the baker exit of corridor H, our bear hunting group took 4 this year, we try not to shoot females or small bears, ours weighed 200, 205, 215, 220. will find out in 11 months how old the bear was, a rogue rich kid who farms my bosses land killed a 500#'er from his combine last year on opening day, he just happened to be combining corn on the opening day of bear season, and just happened to have a gun in the combine.

Those bears lay in the corn around us. Since PA started their early archery season several really big bear have been shot out of cornfields in archery.
