That is really weird because in the list I went to and did the C/P I posted it isn't listed, but it is on the link Ron posted this evening! I guess they must have found their mistake and corrected it in his link.

Sometimes Google puts up older links that are still active for some retarded reason. That's why I never 100% trust the net for information that deals with legalities and such for out of state hunting. I get the number and call.

Thanks, as that's good to know! That must be what happened because I took that right off what was showing as the DNR website when I did the Google Search. Now going directly to the link that Ron provided it's listed right in there.

Sorta late into this string ... but ... several years ago, I stumbled into a good deal on a Marlin "Guide" in 444 Marlin. I hunt in SE Al. and I do a lot of my hunting in thinned pines and hardwood bottoms ...out of a climber... where shots are seldom clear for more than 50-75 yards. This short, compact rifle has been great for this type of hunting. I have taken several deer and a few feral hogs with this lever action using my hand loads that incorporate a Speer Gold Dot bullet and with the Hornady Leverlution factory ammo. Both do the trick. The Leverlution ammo just happens to be a very nice grouper oot of this rifle.
