Down and Out!

I broke my back, and had to take this year off. I've just been scouting this year for next years hunt. I found a new spot this year, and during muzzy season I was within 100yds of bugling elk. I just sat there and listened to them. Very enjoyable.
One word about moose if you're not aware. They can be very aggressive, and charge you. So, be careful when you're around them. They have no fear of man.

Colorado's second rifle season was a bit rough on a lot of people. Moon phase and warm weather there just wasn't a lot of activity during daylight hours. It was for sure a hunt where luck was a major contributor to harvesting game. Even hunting the trees wasn't so productive. Kudo's to those that did get their game in the second season this year. Third season a lot more activity so far.

I do feel your frustration at some level Deernutz as it is nice to score. But at least you were out there and not dealing with a broken back or sitting behind a desk unable to even be in the mountains. My grandfather loved to fish & hunt, but would always say "I am not mad at them", if he did not score. Guess it was his way of telling me that he was enjoying the journey and the time out there. Besdies, when you do score (and you will), that is when the work starts!
Post a couple pics of your area for us poor soles sitting behind our desks!
