This year where I didn't see the bigger bucks on does until 4th rifle. The rut kicks off around the second rifle season.

The rut kicks off in earnest in Mid November and runs into early December.

txhunter58 hit it on the button. The bucks are starting to cruise in early November just like they are up in Wyoming, but it doesn't start getting serious until the middle of the month on into December.

In south central Co second rifle season all I see are the bucks still in batchelor groups. I have been there 7 years in a row and never saw any type of rut behaviour. The bucks are still all hanging out together.
