Unit 16 first rifle season either sex tag is lumped together with units 6, 16, 17, 161, and 171 (which means you can hunt in any of those units, not just 16). The hunt code is E-E-006-01-R. This year, there were 690 tags available and 836 people applied as a first choice. Of those 836 people, 126 people burned one or more points (one person burned 4 points for his tag - totally unnecessary). The remaining tags went to those who had 0 points, but had to put in the drawing for this tag as their first choice. However, 200 people who applied with 0 points as a first choice did not receive a tag, so that means the odds were about 66% of drawing a tag with 0 points as a first choice.
There are still about 1,000 leftover cow tags available for those units for first rifle.
