Big game season is fast approaching.Starts Oct. in VA.What are you doing to improve your odds over last year?
As for myself,I'm expanding to more public land area, selecting WMA's(Wildlife Management Areas) that allow better either sex potential, putting more time in with early season/weapons that can increase odds*,and taking some trips out of state.
*bow season starts in Oct. and runs for a month and a 1/2.Either sex deer is permitted on this WMA full season. This changes when other weapon seasons come in.

For me there is nothing I can do about 4th season elk in CO. I hope to be back from deployment the end of Oct so I can get a few days in the mountains before the season start. In PA though I usually have a good time in flintlock after C-mas. There usually is snow on the ground and alot easier terrain than CO.
