Default Favorite deer to hunt?

Perhaps you've only hunted a certain sub-specie once but loved it, if so share some stories/experience.

Pick more than 1 if you really want.

Or perhaps there is a sub-specie you're desperate to hunt?

I chose mule deer because that's what I get to hunt around here. The only other deer I have ever hunted is whitetail.

I have hunted whitetails all my life and finally have a muley tag for south central Colorado during 2nd rifle season.

I've only hunted mule deer and whitetail. I feel the mule deer are more adventurous, and challenging. I just sit somewhere for whitetails...which is often a pleasant experience after chasing mule deer

I chose both whitetail and muley. Two different hunts and both enjoyable. Why should I have to choose?

I've hunted whitetails and mule deer a lot. I choose a big ole mule deer at timberline. Nothing beats glassing buck after buck during the muzzle loading season in the Rockies. It's like taking candy from a baby.
