Hello fellow hunters:
I am looking for your advise on which outfitter or guide to go with on a Black Bear Hunt. I would like it to be either a horseback or spot and stalk hunt. I am looking primarily at Idaho because of the scenary but would be open to just about anywhere in North America except Alaska.
I would prefer a place with good numbers over a trophy animal. My budget is around 1,500.00 more or less. Willing to do either a Spring or Fall hunt. Thanks for your advise. [8D]

Thre is a guy over on accuratereloading.com looking for people to go on a bear hunt in N Idaho for $1000. Sounded like it might be worth looking at.
Look in the big game hunting forum near the top.

I know it is too late for this year (apply by April 1). However, the black bear season in Colorado (by draw) usually runs the entire month of September. There are so many bears out here you don' t need a guide, and you can hunt the way you want on your own timeframe. The non-resident tag fee is about $253. You might consider it for next year.
You could look at CO OTC tags. Again, there are so many bear, I don' t see the need for a guide.
Good luck.
