Where Are The Environmentalists When We Need Them?

As hunters, we've been assailed from all sides by attacks from fanatic environmentalists, extreme anti-hunting groups, and self professed protectors of animal rights.
Why is the U.S. crawling with these extremist groups when so many other places on the planet could actually benefit from their misguided energies?
Take Yugoslavia for example. They are facing a epidemic poaching problem, that could very well be wiping out rare bird populations in their country. Why are the animal rights/ant-hunting/environmentalists groups not over there plying their trade.

My own hypothesis is that America is the only place that will tolerate them, and that they find Americans to be easy targets. It's not so much a case of ideology that motivates them, but rather the thought of easy prey, and a chance to obtain funding, and the lime light.
When called to the trenches, to do battle in places where it is really needed, we hear very little about them.
Please, if you know anyone belonging to any of these militant environmentalist groups, encourage them to look around the world, and help point out places where their efforts are truly needed and appreciated.
Just a thought,
Thane

The problem with self described environmentalists and their groups is that they are more concerned with propaganda and forwarding their socialist agendas. Never forget that hunters as conservationists are the first true environmentalist and without them you can forget the welfare of animals and the environment. Hunters have always put their money where their mouth is and it is success stories like the whitetail, the wild turkey, the African elephant etc. that prove that fact. The environmental wackos have done nothing to save any wildlife or wildlife habitat but just be a thorn in the side of those of us that truly try to make a difference.
