Greetings fellow hunters,

I recently drew a general archery elk tag and plan on hunting in Unit 92 in the state of Wy. There are other units I could hunt but decided to focus on this unit. Just thought I would see if anyone out there has hunted this unit in the past that might have some suggestions. Plan on hunting the 2nd week of Sept. Thanks.

Are you planning to hunt wilderness areas? Have an outfitter/guide?

Was told you must have a guide to hunt wilderness areas. Therefore, No. Have a friend that is going to go with me but he will not be hunting just calling if necessary.

i hunted this unit 2 years ago during the rifle season, we came home empty handed due to an early snow that left over 3 feet. My dad and I are going out there the first full week of september to chase elk and mulies (the deer are huge in this area even with the snow we saw a deer that we sized over 200 in. but the season was out). There should be plenty of elk to pursue this season as long as mother nature doesent present her challenges.... LOL.

Also 92 has no wilderness areas so you will be fine with out a guide.
