A buddy and I are heading west to Utah with general archery tags for mule deer sometime during the last two weeks of August.
We' re trying to narrow down where we' re going to hunt. We plan on a week long bivy hunt and have been looking at the Mt. Nebo/Payson Lakes area south of Provo.
Any ideas or help with this area that someone would care to pass along? Obviously, we would not turn down a monster muley, but more than anything, as first time mule deer bowhunters, we' re looking to learn, experience some great country, and see a fair number of deer.
Not looking for anybody' s honey hole, just hoping to get in the ballpark for a good hunt in Utah. Any help would be most appreciated.
What kind of climate (temp.) should we be prepared for?
