I am planning a boar hunt in South Carolina this fall useing .35 whelen with a premium 200 gr bullet, handloads of course. Can ayone suggest a brand of bullet ?I was thinking of Nosler or Barnes. In the 8x57 JS I was leaning toward the 196 gr Woodleigh or 200 gr Speer. Also if anybody has used these rounds on boar there thoughst and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

In the 8x57, you can also try a 180gr Barnes X-Bullet or a 200gr Nosler Partition in addition to the two you mention. Any of the four bullets should work superbly.
