I went out and bought a turkey fryer and a used 1500 watt generator. All I need to do now is figure out what kind of pump to get. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

So, I have a question for you guys. Let's say you're on a 5 day hunt and you're with3 people and each shower takes 3 gallons. I'm just wondering, how much water you guys take with you when you go? It looks to me like you're going to need at least 10 gallons just for bathingone time. How much do you take and how do you transport it?

We carry our water in 6 galloncontainers and 15 gallon drums. We carry a lotof water and gas when we go. It will only take about 2 gallons for a shower.

We actually will use creek water mixed with clean water that we haul fro showers. My brother has a 35 gal. drum that he fills and brings, and I have a 10 gal. jug that I use. Like Colorado lucky dog says, 2 gals gets you a pretty decent shower.

Ok, here's my made in Canada shower: Go to your marine or hardware store and buy a bilge pump and 2 alligator clips. A 8-10 foot piece of old garden hose and a cheap shower head (the ones with a hose attached). Pull the hose off the shower head and stick on your garden hose and the pump on the other end of the garden hose. Alligator clips on the pump leads and heat up a big pot of water on a propane stove of some kind. Drop the pump in the water and alligator clips on the battery on your truck. Hang the shower head in some encloser and have your camp shower. Simple.

We have used one of the coleman instant hot water units for 4 or 5years now.
Usually 8-10 guys in camp. Normally only take shower once during hunt though, some years not at all. Depends on weather and action. Coleman unit has done it's job. Will shower all hunters on one charge of battery. And never used more than one of the small propane bottles per trip. In a just a few seconds, it will heat the water hotter than you can stand it.

Found the pump. We should have the whole thing put together this weekend unless it just keeps snowing. Check out this pump.
