Default termination of 2 moose right thing to do?

in fargo, north dakota i beleive it was there. there was 2 moose running threw the streets. they ended up shootin them. alot of people said they could have tranked em. but a guy came on and said that if you try to trank them they go nuts. it takes 2 to 3 min for it to get threw the blood stream. they go nuts when hit with a dart. also he said that he didnt know if the trank would work cuz if an animal is all rilled up it goes thew the system way to fast and doesnt work. i think they did the right think before anyone was hurt. what do you think.
they donated the meat to a no profit organization. they had the meat processed

It' s alot better than the moose getting hit by a car and going off somewhere to die slowly and in pain. I don' t know the circumstances but unless they were actually causing a lot of property damage (cars, houses, businesses, running over people) they could have just hearded them up. Here in Colorado in some of the mountain cities there are elk that run through the streets all the time and are considerd tourists attractions. People will come from all over the country to go to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park just to see the ammount of elk there.

I have to agree with bigbulls on this one. Were they actaully causing any damage, or we people just afraid that they might? To me it' s a pretty big difference. Then again, I don' t want to be anywhere near a moose that is pissed off and ready to trample me either.

i beleive that they tried to run them out of the city but the moose were heading towards interstate and they were gettin real worked up so they decided it was best to take them down.

As long as the meat did not go to waist. Good luck.
