Hey fellow hunters. Anyone know how bad the winterkill was in the Gunnison, Co. area? I have talked to some DOW people there, and they said they did well because they were eating farmers round bales and they were feeding them also. Just need to hear it from anyone who might have helped in the feeding operation there. My friends brother lives there, and he is saying that he hasn't seen hardly any around this year. Can anyone give me their opinion on this. Afraid that they might be saying not bad because they want the money for the licenses. If I can upload this photo, want to show people this white wild turkey running around my field with her young. Also have a hen with a beard. Must be an offspring of one I had around here a few years ago. Won't work now, I will try again later tonight.
Anyone know where I can download topomaps of area I hunt in Colorado?

I read some areas had 30% deer winter loss but elk did much better than deer. Hunting brings a lot of money toCo.small towns if you have a tag go enjoy the hunt there is still plenty of game.

I just spent 4 days up thewre scouting, saw no elk. But with 1000 atv'ers inthe woods( me too) its no wonder we saw no elk. Did see some great mulie bucks tho...

Was you at the Gunnison Basin? I heard by the Dow that muleys and pronghorn took a beaten last winter. If you were in Gunnison, was it unit 54? Also, is that where all the 4 wheelers were? The friend that I went with, his brother lives there and he said he hasn't been seeing any elk in there, and the road has taken a real beaten, can't get in there with vehiles anymore.
