coffee...tea....beer....all have points all have followers...which one is better...for you, one might be better, and some might argue some level of ballistics but the fact is either in the hands of skilled shooter will kill anything in North America...

I'd pick the 300WSM simply because it is a beltless case but that is just a personal thing with me.
Speaking in terms of in flight ballistics and terminal performance....... Neither you nor the dead deer, elk, moose, bear, or other animal will ever know the difference. So just do as Shato said and flip a coin.

I have a 7mm mag best rifle I've ever had but the same goes to my dad who has a 300 WSM both perfect for any kind of game in the states. So I also agree with shato flip a coin.

Both great for big game. Some might agree the 7mm mag may be alittle flatter shooting if range is an issue but with either gun the projectile makes all the difference in range and energy. With the velocities of both guns, inferior projectiles can break up at veryclose ranges. Because of this, when you make your decision for either gun, stick with a lokt, bonded or solid bullet. They stay together and penetrate. I am a firm believer that any guns effectiveness depends on how effective you are and what you push down the barrel.
