Default type of pack you use ?

I currently use the bull-pacs to pack out elk I think they are really comfortable and well built. Any opinions?

I've never used a bull pac, but by just the name it must be good. I use one (actually 4) called the mountain hauler, it's made of aluminum with a nylon webbing in the middle and comftorable wide straps, it has a fold down seat on back to set bagged quarters on. It has 4 - 1 inch rods on each corner I put on and one in the middle on each side. The reasons for these is so I can attatch 1 1/4 inch wide inner tubes cut out of wheel barrel tire tubes from corner to corner once meat is in place, in place it looks like an x then I put one across the middle. It takes about 30 sec. to secure quarters and away you go. No rope no fuss. elknut1.

I prefer where legal, and cold enough, to bone everything out and sack in cheese cloth. I can carry a hell of a lot of meat in a pack basket. Is it as comfortable as a framed pack or ' modern load suspension system' ? nope, but I don' t pack elk everyday either.
