Jaguars in New Mexico, Arizona?
I recently saw a picture of a jaguar that was treed during a mountain lion hunt. I guess in some parts of the US we have jaguars? I think we need to get a population in place so we can one day hunt these bad boys! I guess in many countries you can hunt them legally, yet you can't bring them into the US, trade laws? Anyone know where the black jaguars come from? I heard that they really only are present in 1 area/country.

I lived in AZ for about 10 years. Every so often pictures would make it into the paper from Arizona Game and Fish of Jaguars in Southern AZ. They for obvious reasons never released the location of the sightings but I would bet the pictures were from the Chiricahua Mountains. These are a neat animal, I doubt a viable population is in the cards, but seeing the pictures is cool.
