I got my dad a pair of the Nikon Monarch ATB in 10x42 for christmas. He loves them and as you can imagine i thoroughly scoped them out before wrapping them for him....and then after he opened them some more.....Anyways..one vote for the Nikons...their optics are amazing

Nikons! 100% - My buddy slid belly first down a mountain in AK on a goat hunt. he smashed his nikons and they sent him a new pair. No questions asked. Pick up some Mindl boots with the extra.

Nikon brags about their "no fault" warranty. I guess that includes sliding down a mountain!

I love my Nikon Monarch 10x42mm binos. I don't have a lot to compare them to (I've only owned a pair of cheap $50 before this), but I have spent hours upon hours looking through them and have nothing but good things to say about them. They are very clear through the entire field of view. They also have great eye relieft as I wear glasses and have a hard time using some binoculars.

Thats my 2 cents.
