Idaho Mt. lion ?
#2
A lot of outfitters run lions in Idaho.I am aware of a few in the Clearwater region of Idaho,I hunt in that area every year for whitetails.Unfortunately I can't vouch for any of their results or credibility.I hunt unguided and have not used any of them.Ones that I am aware of are Travis Reggears,Shattuck Creek outfitters, the owner's last name is Molsee,Duncan Outfitters the owner is George Duncan,Idaho Whitetail adventures, the owners name is Mike Stockton.
If you are going to any of the big outdoor shows you would be able to talk to outfitters there.Shed33 lives in Idaho and would be an excellent one to PM to ask about the outfitters he knows of in Northern Idaho.I would be extremenly cautious in my selection of an outfitter, thoroughly check them out and insist on speaking with their successful and unsuccessful clients.
You would likely be better off using a booking service like one of the reputable ones (Garth Carters Huntin fool) is very highly regarded.
Idaho has an association of outfitters,Idaho Outfitters and Guides association, that site will provide you with names and addresses of most if not all the licensed guides in Idaho. You can also contact the association office to inquire as to whether the guide you are considering has any complaints filed against them.
If you know the region that you want to hunt in call Idaho Fish and Game asking to speak with a biologist and ask the biologist who the most reputable guides are in the region, who would they hunt with.
I hope some of these things help,if you think there is any thing else I may be able to help with just let me know!

I've elk hunted with Shattuck Creek a few times, they are good people. Amon, the son, recently bought the business from Andre, the dad. For years, Amon has run all the cat hunts with his dogs. I believe they have very high success rates. Amon is a great guy.

I know Andre and Amon.I have never hunted with them but I have hunted in the town they live in for the last 8 years. We got to know them when they owned the store. They are nice folks,Andre actually backed in to my rented SUV two seasons ago and had the decency to find one of us to make sure we knew he was willing to do the right thing as far as the repair costs went.Fortunately for all of us it was just a surface smudge that we were able to compound out.
We can't help but be in their guiding territory because of where we stay.We always look to go into area's that are not easily accessible.I didn't see one hunter in the woods this year other than those in our party. There is so much room out there, there is no reason to have it be any other way.

There's a chance we ran into each other in the airport this year! My wife and I hunted with Andre at the end of Sept. In the airport there were a couple bowhunters heading to the same area that said they knew Andre! We were all waiting on the oversized luggage area for our bows!

I talked to Andre this weekend, Amon and his wife will be there, Andre is slowing down a bit and not guiding next year, Amon has taken over full control of the outfitting business! Andre will be at Harrisburg.
I saw the biggest whitetail of my life there a few years ago, had him at 25 yards, still no clue how he knew I was there, but it saved his life [8D]

I know that Andre has had some health problems the last couple years. The show season I think would be pretty draining! A couple of years ago they brought back huge amounts of peanut butter I believe from some where in the northeast for bear baiting.Massive amounts of the stuff.
There is a fellow that has become a friend his name is Jack Skille,Andre purchased his guiding territory a few years ago.He has written a great book about whitetail hunting out there. They came to Hunt is the title.
