Be sure there is a tree near by for you to climb in case the buffalo charges.

I'd love to go hunt a bison with my .54cal muzzleloader. Im going to do it one of these days. Ugh! Makin myself hungry just thinking about it.

Just a couple of weeks ago I went down to theFlying D in southwest Montana with a buddy of mine from here in AK and he took about a 6 year old bull with his bow. I believe his bow is in the 65-70 lb range, with fix blade broadheads. His first shot hit the bull in the top of the heart and his second shot hit him in the lungsfrom the opposite side. The second shot probably wasn't necessary, but the guide told him to shoot again so he did. The bull was down in approximately 3 minutes. They're not as invincible as people make them out to be. The Native Americans killedcountless numbersof them with little more than a stick with a sharp stone tied to the end. Shot placement is more important than shooting 80lbs of draw and use a good, sharp, fixed-blade broadhead.

You will do just find with that set up. Just put that arrow in the right spot. My buddy took a Buff on a preserve with a long bow. No issues. Penetration is the key. They can take alot.

Don't try shooting one of the buffalo at this place. There is no fence to hide behind when it comes charging for you.
