Actually, we here in BC joke about the the Island Bear clasification...on average they don't kill any larger Bears than on the mainland. They simply focus on their Bear Hunts. That is what they have to make a living on.Mainland Outfitters have Moose, Elk , Deer ,Sheep, and Goats....these are the main stay of BC Outfitters.Inland Bears have much better coats , living for 6 mounths underground. They also have colour phase Bears...lsland Bearare fatter because of Salmon and the longer season they are out. Some don't even hibernate. It is general concenses in BC that BC Bears are the same...except for marketing...Hats off to those get more money for the same product

I went to Camp Quetico this year up in Ontario.. I didn't see one bear.. lol
BUT, it's a nice place and most of the crew did kill bears.. It rained for all ten days
and I think that may have hurt us a little. They give you trucks and you drop the other
guys off and pick them up on the way back through, we took turns driving.. Well I did
hear a bear though, after it charged me while standing on the dirt road waiting for the truck..
After that happened it was the longest 45min. of my life, with only a bow in my hand.. Must have
been a bluff charge cuz I only heard him and never seen him.
But they have a website if you want to read about it, don't let my bad luck scare you.. lol

Weitas Creek Outfitters in Idaho. went there last year and saw 17 different bears over 6 full days of hunting. 5 of the 17 were cubs, but hey, got some good video of them. also, they are in a 2 bear area. cost is reasonable I think. you can check them out at www.idahooutfitters.com. food was very good, guides were friendly, weather was great. have no complaints about them at all. going back this spring and taking the g/f and her boy. she's going to be filming and taking pictures. he's hunting.

bcguide, very impressive numbers. but not into the spot and stalk. like to sit and watch myself. plus, have a feeling they have way more bears up there than in idaho. not knocking your ways at all. may come to canada to hunt bears some day. but for the money, will stay here for now. until at least '09 when I have to book another hunt.

Give Antlerhill Outfitters a ring- # 403 227 2709 and talk to jason . Easy guy to get along with and he has a awsome fly-in bear camp in northern Alberta. Good camp, awsome food , lots of bears - and you can take two if you want. Very well set up for first time hunters and really good guys. Just a great hunt with loads of memories.
