I went elk hunting in CO this year and had zero luck. I spotted every possible sign, but didn't see a single elk during a week of hunting and a couple days of scouting, however, in a particular meadow me and my hunting partner spotted two bears in 5 hours. The meadow was difficult to get to so we only hunted it one day, but next year I'll be setting up cold camp and bear hunting. He won't be able to hunt next year but I was wondering if anyone here drew the tag for the early rifle bear season and how many points were needed. An off duty DOW officer said he thought that some people with 0 points got the draw. If I don't get the rifle I will still get over the counter muzzleload tags, but would certainly like the rifle to increase my range.
