Default Tracking

Have any of you northern folk had any luck tracking big game in the snow? Down here in Georgia we don't have enough snow to track anything until way after the season ends.

Default RE: Tracking

This year in Minnesota anyway, we haven't had much snow in any part of the state for tracking, except maybe in extreme northern counties. Most years I choose to go deer hunting the later season just in the hope of getting a few inches of snow to see where the deer are traveling recently and to track the blood trail if the deer runs a ways after it's hit. Thankfully, most of the time my deer haven't gone far after the first shot.

It can be a bear to try to track either way without snow to help. Good luck!
