I guess you're right, but it's amazing how on the highway they look like they're the size of the Greater African Kudu, it's weird, but, you're right, they can't be too big.
Being from the east also, where it's very seldom that we see a big gameanimal standing in ankle high grass out in thousands of acres of open terrain, they do look big. Our first trip out to Montana, the outfitters were impressed with our ability to spot and hit deer at long range. We asked them how could anyone miss when it's a 250 lb. deer standing broadside in the wide open! We're used to shooting ata neck or shoulderof a deer in cover so thick that you rarely see the whole deer until after you've taken it.
Good way to put it.
From what I've heard really pronghorn are smaller then deer.

Even though they only average about 100 lbs., their fur stands straight out which makes their bodieslook another 40 lbs. heavier and their legs spindly. You know what they say about bulky clothes. After driving for many hours looking at nothing but foot tall grass, foot and a half tall sagebrush, birds, groundsquirrels, and rabbits, a three and a half foot tall yellow, white and black critter pops up into view right by the road, it definately catches your attention! That's our prairie speed goats.

I think that it's got something to do with their coloration. They seem to shine even on cloudy days, and this makes them look bigger maybe?

I killed a buck that missed B&C by a fraction of an inch, and he might have weighed 110 on the hoof. He really was big and old. I believe herepresents the top end, something like a 350-pound whitetail.

He didn't say he shot a 350 pound Whitetail, he said that was the equilivent of what he shot. The only time I've seen a pronghorn was driving across the praries, and I thought they were neat
