Thought I'd tag on to this thread...
For you guys that have wall tents, do you use them more than once a year, i.e. do you use them other than for elk hunting?
Reason I ask, is I'm debating whether to get a wall tent or some other kind of tent. Last year I solo'd for elk in CO and slept inthe bed of my pick-up (has a topper). This year, I'll be hunting with a friend. I like the idea of a wall tent, but I wonder if one of modern type tents wouldn't be a better option, ala Cabela's Alanak or Big horn II. I have a family, so I can use the tent other than just for elk hunting. I have a camper too, so the tent would get limited use other than elk hunting.
Thanks for your thoughts.

We don't use our wall tents other than elk hunting.....but no reason you couldn't use them just as you would other tents. Let us know if you go with either of the ones you mentioned? Thought about getting one of those for fishing trips.

I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a new wall tent and would like some opinions on the best one to buy. I figure I need a 12 X 14 with atleast one window in the rear and a3 way zipper door w/ flap.I am thinking maybe the traditional pole setupwouldfit the bill,I have been lugging a frame around for a while and its a pain.
I like the one Colorado Tent Co. builds as far as fitting the requirements, are they a good tent ?
Does anyone build a better one?
thanks,Brad
