IPSC I believe Texas allows hunting with unlimited round mags for rim fire only not center fire rifles. I think they are limited to five round cap. Now dont go and jump on me I haven't with the family down there in a while but I do believe I recall the five round limitation.

Sorry, you're wrong. This isfrom the Texas Parks & Wildlife site, from the 2006-2007 hunting regulations:
Magazine Capacity (number of shells/cartridges allowed): There are no restrictions on the number of shells or cartridges a legal firearm may hold when hunting game animals or game birds (except migratory game birds, see Legal Shotgun).
