Mule deer and Antelope Combo hunt - Where to go?
For the past three years, my grandpa and I have been going out west muley hunting. Wedidn't see many animals, but my brother and I each got 2x2 muleys and I got an antelope. We didn't see many deer.
This year, it will be just me and my grandpa, and we are thinking of buying muley and antelope tags. We are planning on going to Wyoming, but are open to any other suggestions. We want to do a DIY hunt on public land and want to see quite a few animals. The deer and antelope seasons would also have to overlap. It would be nice if it wasn't real hilly because my grandpa isn't in the best shape.
Where could we go to find a good hunt like this? Could you Please recommend a state, city, unit, or any other info? Thanks alot, I appreciate it

RE: Mule deer and Antelope Combo hunt - Where to go?
I would say South Dakota would be a good bet. If you can get the tags. Since being stationed there I've tagged several mulies and antelope. Wyoming probably has more antelope, but I think SD probably has more public land. I've always hunted around Butte county and a little town called Newell (sheep capital of the nation!). Plenty of places to get a motel room out there too. And not too far from Sturgis if you get hungry. It's a little more flat out there than Wyoming so there shouldn't be any problem for older hunters.
