Just curious what power of scopes most people use when big game hunting for bear or moose, (ex. 4.5x14x50, 3x9x40, 2.5x8x36, etc.) Sorry if this is an ignorant question.

I use 3x10x42 scopes for all of my big game hunting.

3-9X40 for deer and 4-12X44 for big game

I use a 3x9x32 for all animals.

My dad uses an old K4 (I'll assume 4x32), and I'm planning on buying a Leuplod compact 2-7x33

I use 3.5x10x44's and 3x9x40's for big game hunting.

It depends on the terrain of course. That determines your likelihood of short vs. long shots. I myself prefer a 2x to 10x scope like a Redfield. Then you're prepared for getting up close or taking a long shot across a clear cut if need be.
