What deer are offically or do you consider to be in the North American deer slam?
Obviously, whitetail, mule deer, elk, caribou, and moose. What about blacktail, is that distinct enough to be in the slam? I guess pronghorn are out because they are an antelope?
Thanks for your inputs.

For a deer slam you need: whitetail, muley, coues (pronounced cows), columbia blacktail and sitka blacktail.
Elk, caribou and moose have their own subspecies, and thus, their own slams.
Elk: American and Roosevelt
Moose: Shiras, Canada, Alaska-Youkon
Caribou: Quebec-Labrador, Woodland, Mountain, Central Canada Barren-Ground, and Barren Ground
If you gun hunt, from what I understand, B&C states that the animals must make book. Also, B&C may require the Tule elk for the Elk slam. I'm not sure though.
Hope this helps.
