DonK, Glad you made it back safe & had a GREAT hunt. I will read the whole story on your Blog page. I have had trouble trying to reply on the blog page?
I look forward to talking with you, when you have time. I might try calling you tonight?

What an awesome hunt you guys had (not to mention 100% success as well
) that was a great story and pictures and format--something I'm sure you'll savor for a long time.
If you don't mind Don, I have a couple of questions (as I intend on doing something like this in the very near future)
Is there anything that the outfitter could have done better throughout the whole deal??
Who was the Outfitter?? --I thought you said Tuttiluk somewhere but then didn't see it again.
Did you guys cook for yourself or did the camp guys do that??
Was the food included with the price of the hunt?
Obviously the hunting was great---was the fishing any good???
What would you say was you total expenses--not including what it cost you to get to montreal.
How were the flies (if any)???
Sorry so many questions but this really interests me.
It was a great story that everyone should read if they have the time.
Thanks

As for your questions
The hunt costed us a total of 4 grand with tags and everything. They did a incredible job on getting us on animals. We saw many, many huge bulls throughout the hunt. The one thing I like the most was the mobility of our hunt. They are on a lake that is enormous in size (85 miles long I heard) and we used boats for transportation. This was excellent as we cruised the lake looking for Caribou and then they would start dropping us where we saw them. One day some of our group travelled 18 miles from camp. Then we would be 4, 8, 9, or even a mile away depending on the movement. If they didnt have boats there it would have been a real hard hunt the first 3 days.
We drove to Montreal and then everything was inclusive from there. They paid for the hotel night in, the 2 plane rides up. We had 2 campmen in camp, a cook (our meals where included and he was excellent) and even a floatplane with a pilot was there for support of all the camps. We got breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you where hunting near campyou could come in for lunch. If not he would make youa lunch to take with. The fishing was good although I didnt do any because I was late on filling my tags. They where catching lake trout between 5 and 10 pounds. Also another camp was fishing brook trout and said they where 18 to 24 inches in length. We had some guys with small game licenses and were shooing phartmigan (like a grouse) and 2 bear tags where also bought. We didnt see any bears in our camp at all.
We all shot 2 caribou and 15 of the 24 bulls where taken with a bow. 8 of the 15 will make P&Y and a couple of the gun kills where right at B&C. Due to the location and flights in and out of camp you cant bring back all of your meat. You have to donate your front shoulders to the Inuits and they feed 2 villages. We flew into one and they where thanking us for the meat. There just isnt enough room to bring everything back to Montreal but the meat we did bring back was deboned, butchered and vacum packed. The camp we where at also had a commercial vacum pack machine and they put our capes in there sealed them and put them in a freezer.
Im going to try to get back in 2008. The prices go up a couple hundred each year to the cost of airfare and overhead but thats to be expected. I have been bowhunting for over 25 years and by far the best hunt I have ever been on.
The flies where not bad at all except one day when it got real warm they where out but not real bad. The key here is just to get up a bit higher on the ridges where the wind was and they where gone then.
So if you (or anyone) needs to ask anymore questions shoot me a email. I can even give you my phone number if you want to talk, give you the guys information so you can get the DVDS mailed to you.
I have more pictures to put on that blog give me a bit of time and I will get them on there.
Only problem is now I want to go back right now!!!!!!!! Its addicting.........
