Bear berrys?
#1
This spring i was planning on planting some berry bushes on my private hunting land to try to lure some black bears in. Is there any particular type of berry that black bears like?

I don't know if they would grow here but when I hunt Newfoundland the bears go nuts over what the locals call Partridge Berry. They are small red cranberry type berries that grow on a short bush between the rocks on the tundra. They are really delicious and I always eat a bunch when we are glassing for Caribou. The bear scat is loaded with the color and skins of the berry. Around here black berries are a real draw for black bears.

ill try planting a few black berries then, since i know they will grow. ill probaly get about 20 bushes and put them all in the same area, and maybe a few here and there.
