Trophy Bear hunt in Canada
Ok ya'll, Need some help here.
I want to look into booking a Black bear hunt, but want the best chance at a trophy black bear. I know that everything is by chance, but I wouldl like my chances as good as possible at being able to get the big one.
The reason I am wanting a trphy is simply this; I don't know if I will ever be able to affoard another black bear hunt like this and want the one and only black bear I get to be of trophy caliber. Not a trophy hunter by nature, as with whitetail. I am a meat getter.
Anyone who can point me in the right direction would be great!!
Thanks

Vancouver Island has some big bears but if you look in the record books you'll see that Prince of Whales in SE Alaska produces some real monsters too, and you don't have the hassles of taking firearms in to Canada. Go to the Alaska Hunting Forum and ask around http://www.outdoorsdirectory.com/akforum/akhunting/index.htm
All my hunts are self guided so I can't recommend a guided outfit from my own personal experience, but RDM Outfitter has some great drop camps.

Northern Alberta is much more reasonably priced than Vancouver island and there are very large bears as well.As well, you are allowed two bears, unlike Manitoba or Saskatchewan.
