Wyoming elk draw
#11
Good news NONRESIDENTS~ Don't give up just yet. Wyoming offers a second drawingfor "Leftover" tags. Application dates are July 10 - July 20. Tentative draw date is July 31. You'd have to go to the G&F site and find the areas with leftover tags, and applyin those areas.
You can also buy reduced price cow/calf tags left over from licencing agents in the area the tags are good for. More risky cause you have to buy them in person.
Might seem like you would get the "sloppy seconds", but not necessarily. Give it a try! Glad to help any other way.

I'm hoping to find my son a cow tag somewhere up there. Looks like the idiots here in Utah decided to leave the age at 14 vs changing it to 12. I didn't put him in for Wyo. elk since the bill looked like it would pass. NOPE! Pisses me off. Every other state in the West is 12, but Utah has to be 14. Oh well, I'll keep giving my money to the other states.
Do you know if there is any hope to get a 90, 94 or 103 tag for him still? Not very familiar with the leftover quotas, when will they post it?

I checked Wyoming's Game and Fish site and searched the "Non-Residents Elk Draw Results" http://gf.state.wy.us/ .
It looks like, the Lord willing 3 of us that put in together will be heading West for late season cow Elk hunting this fall!
It'll be a new zone for us we haven't hunted before, West of Thermopolis. So, it'll be a time of learning about the area before and during our hunt I'm sure.
Hope you all do well.

Sorry about that huntelk, I didn't see that that info was for 2005. Now I'm worried that I might be going blind hehe. All of the info you need for the 2006 non-resident leftover draw is on page four. The deer and antelope draws haven't happened yet, so none of the leftover tag numbers have been released yet. The numbers will be out shortly after the deer and antelop drawings, though. Hope this helps.
