150 Parts will do the job. If for some reason they don't shoot well in your gun try the Federal Prem. TSX or TBBC or in Winchester Supreme's the 140 Failsafes. I have taken elk and moose with the 270win, the bullets I used were the 150 Parts & 140 Failsafe...neither seemed inadequate for the quarry!

Best of luck on your hunt.

I agree!I took both of these with .270 150 NP on the same day. Oct. 1994.

If that's not an endorsement for the 150 NP I don't know what is. Cool pic Rebel Hog!

As long as you don't tell the elk that you only have a 270, you will get along just fine.. Just stay away from the bullet proof elk with the kevlar hides. You might consider wearing a cap that says MAGNUM on it.

I have hunted elk with a .270 for about 33 years now. Have had some great successes and some miserable failures - some bullet related and some were my fault. Here are some bullets that have worked for me that I can endorse from first hand experience: 150 Speer Grand Slam, 150 Sierra SBT, 150 Hornady Interlock, 140 TBBC, 140 Nosler Accubond, and the 130 Swift Scirocco. I have use the partitions and like them for shoulder shots - but they don't seem to kill as well on broadside rib shots, which is mostly what I take. I would suspect the same is true, to a degree, with the Barnes TSX and the Failsafe.

Excellent bullet choice. That's what I'd go with.
