another elk hunt this year, Yahoo!
I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait. I wish that Sept. 16 was here already. I am going to get to here the sweetest animal sounds on earth. The Almighty Elk Bugle. I am going to get to see my personal favorite animal to hunt. Yeah, you guessed it The Almighty Elk. I am looking forward to going if you had'nt noticed. With bow in hand, call in mouth, bugle tube ready, bring it on. With any luck, I'll come out with some more great memories and stories to tell.
Is anyone else getting the itch yet?

I'm with you, work on my calls every morning driving to work, shoot 3 times a week, the works. My hunt of a lifetime (LE Premium Monroe Elk Tag in Utah) starts Aug. 25th and then I'm in Idaho the middle of Sept. I've had the itch waaaaay too long!

HuntElk4Fun - So you've got a Monroe tag huh? I was down there just a few weeks ago and ran into some great looking bulls. It looks to be another great year in that unit. Have a good time and I'm jealous till I draw my San Juan, Elk Ridge tag. I've only got 6 points so I may have to get another 6 more. Just curious how many points did you have?

rather be huntin-
Don't shoot me when you hear this, by only 4. I was putting in for the AR301 tag for years (didn't use points), so I barely started getting them. I'm VERY excited. We have a cabin on the top of the mountain and I spend alot of time down there. Someone in our family has drawn that tag for 7 years in row now. They are pretty mad at me, considering many have max or near to it.
San Juan will be fun when you draw it. A good buddy of mine is from Monticello and even guides down there. I've always wanted to hunt there too, but with cabin, hard to steer from Monroe.
