Yes, I believe he will as his season has just opened up this past Monday. Also the fact he has been seeing some and hearing some respond to his calling. Good Luck to you bud..

You are right and I have an itchy finger.. Just think guys when I come back empty handed you all can make fun of me.. That is quite alright as I have been having my fun with all of you.. The pressure maybe getting added up there but, I work best under pressure.. I will not let that bother me. I hunt for the fun of it and scoring is the bonus to it all. I can set in my blind and wonder how many of those guys in our big cities would like to be able to enjoy this. We are a lucky group of people being able to go out there and have some fun calling those big feather creatures into our decoys..

I really don't have as much time as ya think Phil. Season ends next sunday. I have to work all next week,a yard that should have been cleaned up 2 weeks ago, and a wife thats gonna start gettin really irritated with all the turkey talk here pretty quick! I know what yer thinkin, how could anybody ever get irritated talkin about turkeys?????? I don't get it either. Not to mention the walleye opener is this saturday and i'm about a few hours work away from having my boat rigged and ready to salmon fish on Lake Huron.
So i really need to get it done by the end of this weekend!! Tomorrows gonna be the day, i can feel it!!!!

I hear yah! I sometimes forget because I have the whole month of may to hunt. I never checked the closing date but I believe it is around the second week in June. I will check it after I hunt for a couple of weeks this May. All our hunting time ends at 12 noon though. No full days for me which allows me to get stuff done that is in need.

Good Luck on your hunting.. I hope you can get a chance to tag one big or little it will still count. But, the bottom line is to just enjoy your time out there.

I just saw where another team has just tagged a big bird which is going to make it hard for us. There is a lot of birds getting tagged now.. But we still can do it..

I am reading all the "congrats" from you guys and I am actualy thinking that this really sucks. I absolutely love spring turkey season and it's over. I hunted a total of 5 days, 3 myself, and 2 with DTC Jr. We put down 4 toms totaling 97 lbs of turkey and almost 45" of beards. I am trying to work a trip to NE next month but if that doesn't pan out then I guess I will be counting the days unitl archery season. That's Sept 15th.

I have some hunts booked out in for a few years. I've booked a javelina hunt Dec 2014, a Canadian bear hunt 2015 and a South Dakota mule deer hunt as well. Gonna start trying to draw a goulds turkey tag in AZ this year too, they say it takes 5-7 yrs.

The other guys may be playing nice with ya j, but I'm going to have to laugh with ya on this one!:happy0157::happy0157::happy0157: Situations like that sound all to familiar to me. Its fun to complain for a little bit but its always nice to sit back and laugh about it afterwards!

DTC, 1st off congrats on another fine bird. And good luck on your future hunts. I must say though, I wish I could experience a hunting season like yours. I have nearly 2 1/2 months to hunt and it seems like I can never cash out right away. And after so long of being defeated by the birds I seem to get burnt out on it and just can't keep mentally focused on the task at hand. I don't ever give up on it but I just don't take it so serious. Mainly because there are other things I want to do like check my cams or get out metal detecting before the underbrush gets too tall.

I'll be back out again this weekend and I need something to happen. My neighbor just brought a nice one home tonight, 1 guy at work has 3 down, another guy at work has 2 down, and about 7 other guys I know have some down. So I need to get into the success club!!

Dang DTC, unless ya count thanksgiving dinner, it takes me about 5 yrs to come up with that much turkey! I can't even imagine having success like that! Your not looking to adopt a middle aged, overweight, balding second son with a bad smoking habit are ya?? If so, keep in mind, I may be available!
Mottz, I guess if ya can't sit back and laugh at your failures once in a while this stuff wouldn't be any fun would it? All I can say is just stay after em! Ole Phil is hell bent on winning this thing and we don't want to let him down!

Yeah, I may appear to be hell bent and hell bound on winning.. The trueth is I believe as a team we are setting pretty decent on that chance. But, it is not every thing. After all this contest is about fun and no big rewards. I love rassing the guys up but, I am really not 100% serious about it. I have enjoyed the contests the past few years. As well as all the tips I had recieved on hunting these turkeys..

I don't think I need to adopt anyone right now. My family members are driving me nuts now. 1 told me yesterday that I needed to take her son because he hasn't killed 1 yet. Another member was asking what spots I had hunted. When I have lots if birds I don't mind it but our numbers are down and those kids shoot jakes. No jake shooting on our farms!!!! They shoot those jakes and then wonder why they can't hear it see a big bird. DTC Jr passed up 3 jakes, he's 10 and I've never let him shoot one.

I need to fix this sentence.. LOL I went ahead and did a follow up and it actually is from April 29th to June first.. So I have a good month to hunt in. The first week is vacation week and then if I do not tag out I work a 3 on and 3 off schedule which will leave at the very least 2 days a week. But, when working night shifts I will have every morning to hunt until I fill both of my tags.. I am hopeing for the vacation week to get it done however..

Well, blanked out again today. Hunted hard pretty much all day, seen two hens and tonite had one gobbling 100-150 yards out. Thought for sure he was gonna come in, but never showed. I don't know what to do now. Starting to get pretty frustrated. Thinking I'm gonna take tomorrow off, maybe Sunday. Sorry guys
