Yeah, I have been seeing them. So I decided to leave the scouting alone and maybe take a ride Saturday or Sunday just to check things out. I have a feeling that one will be showing itself come Monday morning though. I get a laugh out of some of these guys up here setting up early. Last year while coming home from working the night shift. I saw where a friend had parked and walked in to try and call a tom out. Right directly across the road from his truck was a nice tom standing there in an opening. I am not sure if they were across the road before he set up or afterwards. I couldn't help but smile about it. It really never mattered any because I was tagged out already. I see most my birds like I have been stating from 9 to 11 in the morning.. I do not know why that is but it is what it is.

Thanks for the good luck wishes as well John.. I still have to wait until Monday morning though.. My 1 week vacation starts that day. I also work night and day with a 3 on 3 off 12 hour schedule. So If I fail I will have plenty of more time left to get it done..

I wish all that is hunting some great success as well. I do really believe we can take the tourney this year. We have a really great team to get it done with.. Again good luck guys!

Been trying to figure out why I have such a hard time getting a tom. Last year I got a jake but the way they were kickin my butt last year, I was happy. Now the same thing this year. WHY, WHY, WHY? Oh I know, snapper is takin em all. Wow that is quite the collection. From here on out snapper, you are known as "Turkey Whisperer" Need to figure out a really cool plaque for all those beards and spurs.

j, you are the capt and you need to step it up Don't steal my thunder as being the guy that can't get one. I've worked long and hard for that.

Phil, is Monday ever gonna get here? Gotta be killin ya!!

Wilcam, jrbsr, wetley, pins, AL, DTC any updates? And hoping to hear from Arjuna soon also.

I am not sure about the rest but, from my understanding jrbsr is having truck problems right now. I am hoping to hear from the others as well.

I agree we should be hearing something from Arjuna soon. I hope he has enjoyed his trip as well as get a chance to blast a cap on to one of those strutting birds..

No I do not think Monday will ever get here. The way I have been seeing those toms strutting around. They probably be going into hiding when I grab the old 1100 magnum out of the cabinet. That is ok with me as they most likely will be tripping over their own beards.. I will have to get my decoys all out and ready come this weekend. Then it will be show time! I hope to be saying gobbler down on that first day. I have picked up a couple of more places to hunt for them as well..

I am thinking the j76 will be picking one up shortly. His season has just opened up. He has lots of time to get r done.

Now you need to relax a bit.. Maybe your trying to hard to nail one. Those turkeys on your trail cam shows they are there. Maybe to much calling?? I am not sure but, the waiting game is the hardest part. For me at least it is. Perhaps just set a hen out and do a couple of soft purrs and wait them out.

That's it we have to start hammering these birds now I just went and got the defending champions all sturred up.. LOL .. I just know we will be the winning team this year.. So lets prove it to these guys!

Mottz, its been 8 yrs since i had to chew on a tag, No way i'm gonna let it happen this yr! Last couple sits i've done light calling every 45 min or so. Now not knowing whats up with these birds today i'm going out at 3 and sittin till roosting time and i'm not gonna make a sound. If i can see somethin it will be a successful hunt. If not i gotta start lookin into makin a move. My other close spots have come up empty so far. I do have a spot thats about a 2 1/2 hr drive a way i think i can get on if i have to. Usually has good birds there but i just hate that drive, makes for one long day! If this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon come up empty thats pry gonna be the plan for the weekend.

j76, good deal. You fell into a new hunting spot. That is awesome.

Mottz you need to relax. I felt the same way a few years ago and then it all came together. 1 hunt can change everything for you. You just need to be where turkeys are, make sure you have a good set up and call only when needed. Keep your confidence up and try to enjoy it. The team needs you to get a bird, it will happen.

Snapper nice looking trophy board.

Phil your hunting season has been cancelled. lol. Just kidding, it probably feels like it will never get here.

DTC, you might need to leave jr at home for a hunt. lol. When are you gonna make it back out?

Anyone heard from Arjuna?

jrbsr any luck with the truck? When do you get to hunt?

Lets go team, HANG em High!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm headed back out in the morning. I dot have to be at work until 1, that's always handy during turkey season. Weather looks good, hopefully get on a bird that wants to play.

My buddy in Nebraska is wanting me to come up and hunt next month, I might just have to take him up on it.
