Cool deal, everyone is here. Before I start throwing out names what is everyone's method of death? gun or bow? I myself will be bowhunting.

While we are thinking of names we also need to choose a captain. Who wants to be the captain? Then we can vote if there is more than one person. (Not me) :)

Actually, I am taking both to the field with me(after checking to make sure it is legal). At least on the first couple of days that is my plan.

welcome to the team farm hunter !

i checked out your foodplot blogspot and was impressed! i'm in the learning stages with plots on small acreage,but i saw a big increase in things last year.
trying to draw the deer and turkeys away from my neighbors farm feilds isn't easy or cheap :D too bad your not closer,i'd help you thin out the coyotes LOL!

I'll be taking a gun and a bow afield.

What type of guns/bows are you using. I'm using my Winchester 1300 12 gauge and my Hoyt Trykon Sport.

johnst43 checking in.....My name is Derek Johnston. Sorry for the delay we are moving on Friday and our computer is getting fixed because of a virus. Anyway I will be hunting in Illinois and South Dakota. Mainly with shotgun but do plan to try with bow as well. Good to meet all of you guys. I was on the winning team last year so maybe I can bring us a little luck!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dont have to much time on my hands the next few days so I am open for any team name and captain.

I hunt with a Benelli SBE 1, I put a steady grip stock on it and it is sweet. For bow Bowtech Guardian.

I likeBEARD BUSTERS as well - another decentname might be LIMBHANGERS.

As far as captain - I'd go with one of you guys that hunts turkeys alot - and will likely be on this site daily - I haven't Seriously turkey hunted in a few years - but I'm looking forward to it this Spring, I still have to learn how to score and such. My votefor Captain goes to tycaller -Denny seems to have a passion for turkey Hunting and I think will make a fine Captain!

Denny - Will you accept my Nomination?

If Denny is ok with being captain i vote for him too. I havent killed a whole lot of birds and i think it be good to have a crafty veteran as our Captain. So far for names it sounds like we have Beard Busters and Limbhangers does any one else have any suggestions?

Beard busters sounds like a winner and Denny sounds like a good nominee to me too.

I have never hunted turkey's before but I am going with some guys who are vetrans at it so I don't doubt I will find some :) I am looking at buying a call to start learning on do you guys have any recommendations? I was looking at the primos freak. Any thoughts?

I sent this info in. I changed the s to a z in the name, hope you don't mind. Last year there was a team with that name so that is why I changed it.

Just a reminder to make sure we get good pictures for the site. Also look over the rules every once in a while just to make sure we do it right. Also, I suggest you read up on your states regulations on spring gobbler and anywhere else you may be hunting. If anyone has any issues don't hesitate to contact me. I'll try to help in whatever way I can.

it's early,but looks to be a good year here in southern indiana.
seeing lots of toms and heard a few gobbles already.if it warms up
too soon season will come in too late for productive calling.
i take my turkey hunting very seriously.look for pics soon, i like to photograph as much as i like to shoot them :D

I saw a bunch of turkeys last Sunday, about 30, my youngest brother (chipper1) seen a group of toms close to his place the other day, I am getting the fever bad.

Looks like we are ready to roll. Its good to see a lot of guys have some located already. Now all we have to do is wait... That is the tough part.

My first day to hunt will be Apr. 24th in Mi. How about the rest of you?

Shotgun opens on April 12th and i think archery opensonMarch 25. Im getting pretty pumped up.
